Gutter guard

The purpose of the drop or outlet in a vinyl rain gutter system is to protect the house foundation and garden from the damage of water and ice by redirecting them away. This article presents you how to add a drop to a vinyl rain gutter.

First install the vinyl outlet at the end of the gutter.

After hat seal the seams with caulk or sealant. If the outlet is not sealed correctly you may encounter leaks.

Seal the lip of the connector piece and attach it to the vinyl gutter outlet. Screw the connector piece tightly using rivets to make sure it won’t slip accidentally. Make sure you prevent leaks by adding more sealant or caulk over the connector piece and gutter.

Connect the elbow to the connector piece. The free end of the elbow should point towards the house.

Attach your downspout to the elbow using some caulk that you put on the downspout end and on the elbow lip and then push them together. Fix the downspout with traps to prevent sagging.
