In some cases, you will need to use a reciprocating saw with a metal blade for undiscovered or impossible to remove screws or bolts. So, you will need to locate the place and gently pry the corbel away from the surface and get the reciprocal saw blade behind it and cut the nails, screws or bolts. Be careful not to cut the wood. In case of a blind installation, you will fix a screw using a washer. The screw will be fixed into the back of the corbel. You will need to mark the center of the place where the brackets will be installed and then, drill a pilot hole. An assistant will help you to hold the racket firmly while you are drilling holes and fixing screws inside the cabinet. Corbels should be placed 36 to 48 inches depending about the load bearing weight.
A floating corbel can be created by attaching it with a keyhole fastener. The corbel will be hanged on a screw, but this way is dangerous for the corbel as it can be damaged. For a kitchen, new corbels can be an aesthetic solution.
