You will need to mark the center of the place where the brackets will be installed and then, drill a pilot hole. An assistant will help you to hold the racket firmly while you are drilling holes and fixing screws inside the cabinet. Corbels should be placed 36 to 48 inches depending about the load bearing weight.

A floating corbel can be created by attaching it with a keyhole fastener. The corbel will be hanged on a screw, but this way is dangerous for the corbel as it can be damaged. For a kitchen, new corbels can be an aesthetic solution.
